Emmys 2022: Zendaya Takes Home Another Best Actress Trophy for “Euphoria”

Following her role in the acclaimed television show “Euphoria,” Zendaya has been awarded yet again another Emmy! The Emmy award “Lead Actress in a Drama” went to Zendaya on Tuesday for her depiction of Rue Benett in Euphoria. Zendaya has received her second Emmy. 2020 saw her win her first award for Euphoria. This year, Zendaya has been awarded a total of four nominations for Emmy.

In addition to being nominated for “Lead Actress in a Drama Series,” she is also up for two nods for “I’m Tired” and “Elliot’s Song” for Outstanding Original Lyrics and Music for the songs. Moreover, both of these were included in the second season of “Euphoria,” which is competing for an Outstanding Drama award.

She previously made history in 2020 for her work as Rue in “Euphoria,” to become the youngest leading lady drama winner. At the time of receiving the award, Zendaya was 24 at the time. She was just the second Black woman to ever win the award. Following Viola Davis, who was the first black woman to win the award for “How to Get Away With Murder.”
